When Fender salesman Don Randall requested a more sophisticated, high-end bass guitar, the now legendary Jazz Bass was born. With a neck that was more narrow at the nut, it allowed for faster and more effortless playing, while the sleek new body shape borrowed it's contoured offset style from the Jazzmaster. By 1966, the evolution of the Jazz Bass had broken new ground with fantastic new features.

Recreating the classic tone and feel of the original, the American Vintage II 1966 Jazz Bass features appointments characteristic of production in 1966, such as a 1966 "U"-shaped Hard Rock Maple neck with a 20-fret, 7.25"-radius round-laminated Rosewood fretboard, a Pure Vintage 4-saddle bridge with threaded saddles, vintage-style "lollipop" machine heads, and a period-accurate finger rest.
