Gerard Gilet
Gerard Gilet Classical Swiss Pine/Brazilian Rosewood-Tradional Bracing
Gerard Gilet is one of Australia's most well known and respected luthiers and many younger generation Australian makers learned their craft in the Gilet workshop.
Gerard makes few guitars these days and has used his last set of Brazilian rosewood and Swiss pine for this very fine guitar. It should be noted that this is a fan braced guitar as opposed to Gerard's usual lattice or radial bracing. The result is a successful cross between a Spanish and modern Australian classical guitar.
Gerard has actually called this a "Classical/Flamenco" but to this players ears, it sounds like a classical guitar with a clear and even voice with Spanish-like tone colour although it does have Flamenco-like fast attack.
An opportunity to buy a guitar from a world renown Australian luthier made from rare tone woods at a very reasonable price.
