The Boss IR-2 Amp & Cabinet is a compact amp simulator and impulse response pedal designed to deliver convincing amplifier and speaker cabinet tones directly from your pedalboard. It's an excellent solution for players looking to run straight into a PA, recording interface, headphones, or other full-range system without relying on a traditional guitar amplifier.

The IR-2 combines a selection of guitar amplifier models with high-quality cabinet IR technology, covering everything from sparkling cleans and edge-of-breakup sounds through to classic crunch and modern high-gain tones. The straightforward amp-style controls make it quick and intuitive to dial in, while the Ambience control adds natural space to direct sounds.

Two complete amp/cab setups can be configured and switched between, making it easy to create dedicated clean and drive sounds for live performance. The pedal also supports loading your own cabinet impulse responses, providing additional flexibility for players with favourite IRs.

An onboard effects loop allows modulation, delay, reverb, and other effects to be positioned after the amp modelling, while the headphone output makes the IR-2 particularly useful as a compact silent-practice rig.
