Strymon
Strymon TimeLine MX Next Gen Multi Delay Workstation
Product Description
The Strymon TimeLine MX represents the next generation of Strymon's flagship delay platform, combining world-class studio-quality delay sounds, dual-effect processing, reverb, a five-minute stereo looper and extensive professional connectivity in one stage-ready pedal.
TimeLine MX features 12 world-class effect machines, with new Oil Can, Spectral, Drum, Reverb and MultiTap engines alongside significantly enhanced versions of the classic TimeLine delay machines. From warm, vintage-inspired echoes to pristine digital repeats and expansive experimental textures, each engine has been carefully tuned to respond musically to your playing.
One of the biggest advances is the ability to run two effects simultaneously. Dual effects can be configured in Series, Parallel or Split routing, with individual panning available for each engine. This opens up an enormous range of possibilities, from complementary rhythmic delays and complex stereo patterns to expansive combinations of delay and reverb.
The integrated five-minute stereo looper adds another powerful creative tool. Choose between Multi or 1 Button Looper operation, position the looper before or after the effects, and access essential looping functions without interrupting your performance. Reverse, redo and half-speed functions can also be controlled externally.
TimeLine MX is equally impressive when integrated into a professional rig. Stereo input and output are joined by stereo send and return capabilities, with selectable configurations supporting mono or stereo effects loops, Wet/Dry and Wet/Dry/Wet setups. Full MIDI control is available through USB-C, TRS and DIN connections, while the EXP input supports expression pedals, MultiSwitch, MultiSwitch Plus and TRS MIDI.
Despite its depth, TimeLine MX remains designed for intuitive operation on stage. A bright OLED display provides excellent visibility, while the dedicated Tap Tempo footswitch makes synchronising delays straightforward and doubles as a controller for the 1 Button Looper. In Dual patches, individual machines can also be controlled independently by foot.
Under the hood, an 800MHz tri-core ARM processor with 32-bit floating-point processing provides the power behind the effects, while 24-bit/96kHz A/D and D/A conversion delivers exceptional fidelity. The premium analogue signal path features a discrete JFET input preamp, low-impedance output section and an analogue dry path that keeps your dry signal at zero latency without converting it to digital.
Designed and built in the USA, the Strymon TimeLine MX takes the celebrated TimeLine concept considerably further, delivering an exceptionally powerful delay, reverb and looping platform for demanding stage and studio rigs.
Professional Routing
TimeLine MX provides extensive routing options for integration into simple pedalboards through to sophisticated stereo stage and studio systems.
Selectable configurations include:
- Standard mono or stereo operation
- Mono effects loop
- Stereo effects loop
- Wet/Dry
- Wet/Dry/Wet
All audio jacks are TRS stereo, allowing the pedal to accommodate a wide range of professional setups without sacrificing its compact footprint.
Looper
The integrated stereo looper provides up to five minutes of recording time and can be positioned either before or after the delay effects.
Selectable Multi and 1 Button modes allow the looper to adapt to different workflows. In 1 Button Mode, looping can be controlled directly from the dedicated Tap footswitch without switching the pedal into a separate Looper mode.
MIDI & External Control
Full MIDI implementation allows presets and relevant parameters to be controlled externally through USB-C, TRS or DIN MIDI connections.
The EXP input supports:
- TRS expression pedals
- Strymon MultiSwitch
- Strymon MultiSwitch Plus
- TRS MIDI
The USB-C connection also supports firmware updates, MIDI I/O and upcoming compatibility with Strymon's Nixie 2 editor.
