The Walrus Audio Fundamental Lo-Fi Delay takes familiar delay sounds and transforms them into shifting, imperfect textures. Designed with a simple three-slider interface and three distinct algorithms, it moves easily from bright, modulated echoes to dark ambient clouds and rhythmic multi-tap patterns.

AM mode delivers bright repeats shaped by a high-pass filter, light harmonic distortion and dual wow-and-flutter modulation. The echoes gradually thin and degrade for hazy, pitch-shifting textures suited to open chords, dreamy leads and atmospheric playing.

Murk mode takes a darker approach, rolling off high frequencies while adding heavier distortion and dual low-frequency modulation. The resulting repeats can sit subtly beneath a riff or build into dense, pulsing clouds as the Feedback is increased.

Echo mode provides a rhythmic multi-tap delay with analogue-style tone shaping. Short delay times produce dense textures that blur the line between delay and reverb, while longer settings spread the taps into syncopated patterns and cascading repeats.

Tap Tempo provides quarter-note, dotted-eighth and eighth-note divisions, while selectable Trails operation allows repeats to either decay naturally after bypass or stop immediately. With up to one second of delay time, the Fundamental Lo-Fi Delay offers an accessible way to explore degraded echoes, modulation and rhythmic ambience.
