1981 Inventions DRV Distortion Pedal V2
🦄This one’s a unicorn! It’s built in tiny runs, so we can’t predict availability or hold pre-orders. Want first dibs? Hit “Notify me when back in stock” and we’ll ping you the moment it returns.
The 1981 Inventions DRV is a highly nuanced preamp/distortion pedal created in collaboration with Jon Ashley of Bondi Effects. After four years of refining prototypes and obsessively tweaking circuits, the DRV emerged as a vintage-minded drive that’s both versatile and inspiring.
With three highly interactive controls, the DRV offers everything from subtle harmonic warmth to thick fuzz-laden distortion. At lower gain settings, it shines as a preamp with rich dynamics and guitar-focused midrange clarity—perfect for enhancing your instrument’s natural voice. As the gain increases, the DRV transitions seamlessly into thick, harmonically complex distortion, and even fuzz-like textures, all while maintaining clarity and responsiveness.
Hand-built in the USA using vintage-style through-hole components, each unit features off-board jacks, robust folded steel housing, and individual testing and hand-numbering, ensuring both reliability and character.
