Electronic Audio Experiments Prismatic Wall - Sympathetic Resonator Reverb
Prismatic Wall is a sympathetic resonator designed to transform incoming sounds into the shimmering vibrations of an illusory bank of tuned strings. Part reverb, part synthesizer, it produces metallic yet warm tones that range from the subtle harmonic aura of a third bridge to the lush, chromatic depth of a grand piano.
The resonances form a sustaining spectral extension of your instrument — responsive and expressive, reacting dynamically to your playing. Notes in tune excite specific harmonics, while percussive attacks trigger the entire array of virtual strings in unison.
At its core, Prismatic Wall uses a physical string model built from tuned delay lines, where pitch is achieved by manipulating the system’s sample rate. The Mode selector adjusts the interval spacing between strings, creating unique harmonically ambiguous textures. Damping and Decay control brightness and sustain, from brief plucks to infinite drones.
Blending primitive DSP with analog saturation and filtering, Prismatic Wall offers a sonic character that feels timeless — neither vintage nor modern. A digital control interface allows full MIDI integration, preset storage, LFO modulation, and morphing between two parameter states via the Aux footswitch or expression/CV input.
More than just an effect, Prismatic Wall is an instrument in itself — refracting your musical ideas into a spectrum of resonant, evolving harmonics.
