The Friedman IR-D is a complete Friedman amplifier rig in a pedal, delivering the unmistakable British-inspired tone of Dave Friedman’s legendary amps in a compact, pedalboard-ready format. Powered by two high-voltage 12AX7 preamp tubes, the IR-D is not a simulation — it’s a true all-tube preamp, offering the same touch sensitivity, harmonic richness, and dynamic response as a full Friedman head.

Featuring two fully independent channels, each with its own boost, 3-band EQ, bright, and structure switches, the IR-D gives players up to four gain stages at the tap of a footswitch. Its tonal DNA is derived from Friedman’s acclaimed Dirty Shirley / Twin Sister designs, based on Dave’s modded JTM45 circuit — warm cleans, chewy mids, and harmonically rich overdrive that defines the Friedman sound.

The onboard Impulse Response (IR) cabinet and power amp simulation provides a studio-grade, mic’d-up tone direct to your DAW, interface, or front-of-house system. Choose from 13 Friedman IRs or load your own via the included USB editing software. Each channel has independent IR selection, presence, and thump controls for deep tone shaping.
