Crafted in Bozeman, Montana, this model stays true to the classic square-shouldered Hummingbird design while offering a slightly thinner “concert depth” body for improved comfort and a tighter, more controlled low end.

Built with solid mahogany back and sides and a solid Sitka spruce top, the Hummingbird Special produces a warm, balanced tone with excellent dynamic response—ideal for strumming, fingerstyle, and singer-songwriter applications. The reduced body depth enhances clarity and ensures the guitar sits well in a mix without overwhelming bass.

The utile neck features a comfortable rounded profile and is joined using a traditional compound dovetail joint with hot hide glue for maximum resonance. A rosewood fingerboard with classic pearloid parallelogram inlays completes the unmistakable Hummingbird aesthetic.

Equipped with an L.R. Baggs Element Bronze pickup system, this guitar is stage- and studio-ready straight out of the case, with a discreet soundhole-mounted volume control for easy adjustment on the fly.
