The National Resolectric features a Lollar Firebird pickup in the neck position and a Fishman Nashville pickup in the bridge. The buffered preamp allows blending between the two pickups. The controls are as follows (starting with the closest to the headstock): master volume, blend, master tone. The preamp is powered by two 9-volt batteries located at the back of the instrument under the control plate.
As of 2012, all Resolectrics come equipped with National's standard neck-tilt feature. This allows the action to be lowered or raised without re-slotting the bridge. The adjustment screw is located through the fingerboard at the 21st fret. The solid mahogany body is capped with a figured maple top bound in ivoroid. The figured maple neck clears 14 frets to the body, ebony fingerboard highlighted with mother of pearl position markers.
