Versatile Tonal Range

At lower settings, the Nighthawk produces articulate, crystal-clear cleans perfect for dynamic rhythm work and chimey leads. As you turn up the gain, it transitions smoothly into rich overdrive and saturated rock tones that respond beautifully to your picking dynamics and guitar’s volume knob.

The six-position Tone Selector allows instant access to different voicings, from bright and cutting to full-bodied warmth — perfect for matching various pickups, guitars, and musical styles.

Power and Control

Driven by two EL84 power tubes and a 12AX7 phase inverter, the Nighthawk’s power section delivers punchy, responsive projection with musical breakup at higher volumes. The combination of Master Volume and Preamp Volume provides excellent control over saturation and headroom, letting you dial in your ideal balance of clarity and grit.

Phil Jamison’s Tips

• For the cleanest tones, set Master Volume fully open and Input Volume around 8–9 o’clock.

• Experiment with the Tone Selector to match your pickups and guitar voicing.

• For dynamic rock tones, turn Volume up around 3–4 o’clock and use the Tone Selector’s upper positions for added midrange fullness.

• Roll down your guitar volume to clean up the sound while maintaining clarity.
