Maton Master Built The L.E. May Acoustic Guitar

The Maton Master Built L.E. May is a refined, artfully detailed acoustic-electric designed as a sleeker evolution of the W.A. May. It features a full-depth Traditional cutaway body for comfort and upper-fret access, plus a smaller 1940s-inspired Maton headstock with a pinstriped centre profile, art déco pearl inlay, and ebony veneer bound with Yellow Wood Ash.

Tonally, it pairs a carefully selected European spruce soundboard with figured Victorian Blackwood back and sides for a clear, responsive voice with plenty of warmth and depth. The top is braced with European spruce scalloped Maton X bracing (A-shaped, scalloped for performance) and a maple bridge plate, all designed to hit Maton’s targeted tonal response. Finished in natural gloss with staining to enhance the figuring, it comes stage-ready with Maton’s AP5 PRO pickup system and premium Ratio gold open-back tuners, plus a standard Maton case.
