The Collings D2H-T Traditional Series Acoustic Guitar represents a return to the roots of Collings guitar making, combining old-world construction techniques with the precision, projection, and exceptional craftsmanship for which Collings is renowned. The Traditional or "T" Series offers a distinct variation on the classic Collings voice, with a warmer, more rounded character and an exceptionally dynamic response.

Built with a Sitka spruce top and East Indian rosewood back and sides, the D2H-T delivers the depth, richness, and harmonic complexity expected from this timeless tonewood combination. Traditional Series bracing and tonewoods are individually adjusted for weight and thickness, creating a voice with warm, rounded highs and a strong, present low-midrange while retaining the quick attack and powerful projection that define the Collings sound.

Construction plays a major role in the character of the D2H-T. Animal protein glue is used throughout, while an exceptionally thin high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish allows the instrument to remain lively and responsive. Under the top, Collings employs its custom Traditional Series pre-war scalloped X-bracing without a tongue brace, further contributing to the guitar's open and responsive voice.

The Honduran mahogany neck features Collings' Traditional profile, a 1 3/4" bone nut, and a 14"-26" compound-radius ebony fingerboard. Elegant appointments include gold mother-of-pearl long diamond and square inlays, ivoroid body binding with small brown herringbone purfling, a custom wood rosette, stained exotic ebony peghead veneer, and nickel Waverly tuners.

Completing the package is a handcrafted lightweight Collings Traditional case, designed and built in the Collings shop specifically to complement the Traditional Series.
