The Electro-Harmonix Freeze Sound Retainer is a unique effects pedal that allows you to capture and sustain a note or chord indefinitely, creating a musical foundation that you can continue playing over.

With the press of the footswitch, the Freeze captures a moment of your playing and holds it as a continuous sustained sound. Your dry guitar signal remains available over the top, making it fantastic for creating drones, ambient textures, chordal backing, solo practice, soundscapes, and experimental effects.

Three selectable operating modes provide different ways to control the sustained sound. Fast mode provides immediate capture and release, Slow mode introduces smoother fades for atmospheric textures, while Latch mode allows the frozen sound to continue after releasing the footswitch.

The dedicated Effect Level control lets you balance the sustained layer against your dry instrument signal, making the Freeze equally effective as a subtle creative tool or the centrepiece of an ambient setup.
