The Mozztronics AP-1 Acoustic Preamp & DI is a dedicated analogue preamp designed specifically for acoustic guitars fitted with piezo pickups, combining essential tone shaping, signal control and DI functionality in one compact pedal.

Even if your acoustic guitar already has an onboard preamp, the AP-1 provides considerably more control before your signal reaches an amplifier, PA or mixing desk. The 100% analogue signal path keeps things clean and natural, with plenty of headroom and no digital modelling or simulation.

A comprehensive 4-band EQ has been tailored specifically for acoustic guitar, providing dedicated Bass, Low Mid, High Mid and Treble controls. The Treble frequency is intentionally positioned high to provide precise control over the upper-frequency "sizzle" that can sometimes be present with acoustic pickups.

The switchable 100Hz High Pass Filter (HPF) helps reduce unwanted low-frequency energy, including the thump generated when striking or tapping the guitar's soundboard.

For live performance, the AP-1 features a built-in balanced DI output with Ground Lift, making it easy to connect directly to a PA or recording system while retaining a standard 1/4" output.

An internal switch allows the footswitch behaviour to be configured for either Bypass or Mute operation. In Mute mode, both the XLR and 1/4" outputs can be silenced when you're not playing—particularly useful for changing guitars or managing your signal between songs.

Input Gain and master Volume controls provide plenty of flexibility for matching different pickup output levels. Set correctly, the AP-1 provides a clean signal with generous headroom, while particularly hot pickups can even produce a touch of analogue grit when the Gain is pushed.

A practical all-in-one solution for acoustic players who need greater control over their piezo-equipped instrument on stage, in the studio or through a PA system.
