The Origin Effects MAGMA57 Amp Vibrato & Drive brings the iconic sound and feel of vintage Magnatone® amplifiers to your pedalboard. Combining authentic true pitch-modulating vibrato with dynamic amp-style overdrive, the MAGMA57 delivers everything from warm vintage cleans to swirling psychedelic textures and rich harmonic drive.

At the heart of the pedal is a faithful recreation of the legendary two-stage vibrato circuit found in late-1950s Magnatone 200 Series amplifiers such as the Custom 260 and 280. Unlike standard tremolo effects that alter volume, the MAGMA57 produces true pitch modulation, creating the lush, shimmering vibrato that has become a benchmark for organic modulation tones.

Beyond classic vibrato, the pedal includes additional blend modes that expand its modulation palette. Combining wet and dry signals in-phase produces a distinctive pseudo-rotary speaker phasing effect reminiscent of classic Uni-Vibe textures, while summing signals 180° out-of-phase introduces a unique blend of phasing and amplitude modulation for rich chorus-like sounds.

The drive section is inspired by the Magnatone Model 213 “Troubadour”, capturing the warm cleans and raw, expressive overdrive of this vintage dual-6V6 amplifier. Origin Effects’ Analogue Amp Recreation technology recreates the dynamic response and interaction between amp and speaker, giving the pedal a remarkably realistic feel under the fingers.

To ensure compatibility with modern rigs, the MAGMA57 includes a comprehensive Post-Drive EQ, allowing players to shape the pedal’s output to match their amplifier’s clean tone or integrate seamlessly with power amps, cabinet simulators, or recording interfaces.

Built for professional use, the MAGMA57 features tour-grade construction, a brushed stainless steel enclosure, aluminium controls, Neutrik® jack sockets, and silent switching buffered bypass. Designed and built in England, it delivers vintage amp tone and modulation in a road-ready format.
