The ProPik Heritage Fingerpicks are a faithful recreation of one of the most legendary sets of picks in bluegrass history. Based on Earl Scruggs’ original 1950s National oval eight fingerpicks, these are the exact picks used during the recording of Pike County Breakdown with Lester Flatt and the Foggy Mountain Boys in October 1950.

After that historic session, Earl Scruggs passed the picks to Dobro pioneer Tut Taylor, and decades later they found their way to Deering artist and R&D advisor Jens Kruger. Using those original picks as reference, ProPik recreated them to the exact dimensions, preserving the feel, response, and tone that defined a generation of bluegrass music.

Each blade is individually buffed and angled backward to provide a naturally played-in feel with reduced string resistance, delivering smooth attack, clarity, and comfort straight out of the package. These picks are ideal for players seeking authentic vintage tone with modern consistency.
