The Supercool Pedals 800 Preamp / Distortion is a modern, high-output gain pedal built around deep preamp filtering and a classic 741 op amp that drives your signal into a selectable wall of clipping. The front-end voicing delivers fuller mids, booming bass and glasslike treble before the gain stage hits—making it equally at home with heavy riffing, grunge-era grind, or warm, boosted edge-of-breakup tones.

Two clipping modes let you cover a wide range. Silicon diodes (hard clipping) deliver deep, chunky distortion that can push into fuzz-adjacent territory, with a distinct early-’90s grit and bite. LED diodes (soft clipping) offer a higher clipping threshold and a smoother response, producing a mid-rich, warm boosted signal that can lean into jangly overdrives and vintage tube-like character. With its powerful output, the 800 can also be used as an “always on” tone shaper at low distortion settings, or as a solo boost to jump out of the mix.
