Vemuram Spiritone Char Signature Dual Channel Overdrive Pedal

The Vemuram SPIRITONE is a premium collaboration overdrive pedal developed with legendary Japanese guitarist Char, designed to capture the nuanced drive and boost character that’s shaped his signature tone over decades of playing. During development, Vemuram and Char closely studied and referenced Char’s long-time favourite drive sounds—particularly his personal Klon Centaur—alongside the boost/gain character associated with gear like the Roland CE-1 preamp and the Watkins Copicat, blending those inspirations into a versatile, medium-gain drive voice built for real gigging use.

A standout feature of the SPIRITONE is its two distinct tunings in one pedal. Char couldn’t choose between two final prototypes because each delivered different tone and feel, so Vemuram integrated both: one voice leans more vintage and touch-responsive, while the B-channel (Bright Channel) is brighter, more aggressive, and punchier, with its own Level control and footswitchable access—perfect for moving between rhythm and lead textures.

For deeper fine-tuning, the SPIRITONE includes a SAT (Saturation) trimmer to adjust tube-like saturation feel, plus a buffer ON/OFF toggle so you can match the pedal to your rig, cable runs, and venue conditions. Built with Vemuram’s custom components and select N.O.S. parts, it’s also finished with boutique details like ash white Bakelite knobs for that “joy of ownership” vibe.
