The Walrus Audio Canvas Expression Pedal Grey is a highly configurable expression controller designed to handle far more than a conventional expression pedal. With two independently configurable outputs, each capable of operating as an expression, switch or control voltage output, Canvas Expression can control multiple devices simultaneously from a single treadle.

Automatic expression wiring detection supports TRS, RTS and TS resistance configurations, while adjustable tapers, sweep direction, switching thresholds and output behaviour allow the pedal to be tailored to different rigs. For synth and modular setups, either output can generate selectable 0–5V or 0–3.3V control voltage.

Canvas Expression also provides extensive MIDI functionality, with up to 16 assignable MIDI messages available via 1/8" TRS MIDI and USB-C. It supports CC and PC messages, high-resolution 14-bit USB MIDI and MIDI input for remotely enabling or disabling outputs.

Advanced settings, MIDI assignments and firmware updates can be managed through the Canvas Expression web editor, while onboard configuration keeps essential adjustments accessible without additional software. Adjustable treadle resistance allows the physical feel to be customised for a lighter or firmer sweep.

Built without strings, potentiometers or gears that can become scratchy or wear out, Canvas Expression provides a flexible central controller for pedalboards, amplifiers, synthesisers, modular systems and computer-based setups.
