Ceriatone
Ceriatone Horsebreaker (Bluesbreaker/Klon) Dual Overdrive
Gain, Treble and Output make up the controls for the Centura side on the left, as they did on the original Klon, and give you all that classic clean boost tone you’ve been searching for. It’s a killer overdrive as well as you increase the Gain, and using the Output and Treble controls, you can experiment to dial in the perfect sound. On the Horse Breaker, however, you get an additional control – a small toggle switch lets you choose between buffered or true bypass operation.
The right side of the Horse Breaker is a Bluesbreaker-type of overdrive circuit, and boasts Volume, Tone and Gain parameter controls. This one has a bit of a lighter feel at lower volumes, but turns into a British-style tube amp sound as you increase the clipping via the Gain knob. Running these circuits individually sounds great, but stacking them together opens up entire new worlds of tone, pushing any amp that happens to come into contact with the effect into sweet, sweet tonal bliss.
Both of the circuits in the Horse Breaker are 100% accurate down to part composition, and even manufacturer where important. Ceriatone went so far as to reverse personal vintage samples of each one, then measure and compare exhaustively. Not only do you get two classic sounds in one perfectly-sized enclosure, but there’s an order toggle switch (C -> BB or BB -> C), which opens up even more sonic possibilities to experiment with.
