A wonderful pre-war Gibson L-00 dating from approximately 1936–1938, with the unmistakable character, feel and sound that make these small-body Gibson acoustics so desirable.

This guitar displays significant genuine play wear and areas of finish removal, all highly attractive and consistent with an instrument approaching 90 years of age. Rather than presenting as overly preserved, it has the wonderfully played-in appearance you'd hope to see on a vintage L-00 of this era.

Most importantly, it sounds incredible and plays beautifully following extensive restorative work by our in-house luthier Isaac Ware.

Recent work includes replacement of the failed original ebony bridge with a new ebony bridge, with the original bridge retained and included in the case. Isaac also completed an internal soundboard repair, fitted a new unbleached bone saddle and ebony nut, and performed a complete refret using #148 nickel silver fretwire. The guitar has been setup and strung with D'Addario XS Custom Light 11–52 strings.

Construction is classic pre-war Gibson, with a solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and pronounced V-shaped neck profile. The compact body and short 24.75" scale contribute to an immediate, responsive feel with the dry, woody projection and character associated with vintage L-00s.

A fantastic player's vintage Gibson that has received the restorative attention required to keep it performing at its best for years to come.
