The Keeley Angry Orange Distortion & Fuzz is a 4-in-1 analogue gain pedal that combines two classic distortion and fuzz-inspired circuits with two new hybrid voices. Based around the character of a ’78 Japanese Orange Distortion and a ’91 Soviet Civil War Fuzz, the Angry Orange lets you mix and match their tone and clipping sections to create a wide range of saturated sounds.

Two independent switches select between MF and DS tone and clipping circuits. Match them to access the two core fuzz and distortion voices, or combine elements from each circuit to create two hybrid fuzz/distortion sounds with their own distinct response and character.

The DS clipping circuit uses hard diode clipping for a more aggressive, edgy distortion, while the MF circuit uses soft diode clipping for a smoother, fuzzier response. Each circuit also has its own passive tilt-style tone control, allowing the hybrid modes to combine the EQ character of one effect with the clipping response of the other.

Despite its flexibility, the Angry Orange keeps operation straightforward with just Level, Tone and Drive controls alongside the two circuit-selection switches.

The all-analogue signal path is complemented by selectable True Bypass or Buffered Bypass operation. Keeley’s JFET buffered mode provides silent switching and maintains a strong signal through your pedalboard, while True Bypass can be selected by simply holding the footswitch.

Built entirely by Keeley Electronics in the USA and housed in its proprietary aluminium enclosure, the Angry Orange delivers four distinct gain voices from one compact pedal.
