The Keeley Bassist Compressor delivers high-fidelity, studio-style compression and limiting designed specifically to handle the extended frequency range and high signal levels of bass guitar. Built around the THAT Corp. 4320, it combines high-performance Voltage Controlled Amplifiers, a true-RMS detector and high-performance op-amps for precise, transparent dynamic control without sacrificing the detail of your instrument.

Unlike compressors designed primarily around conventional guitar signals, the Bassist Compressor comfortably handles active preamps and high instrument-level signals. Its bandwidth extends beyond 20kHz with low noise and distortion, making it equally useful for subtle dynamic control, more pronounced compression and hard limiting.

Three straightforward controls provide extensive dynamic control. Threshold determines the level at which compression begins, with a dual LED indicator providing visual feedback. Compression adjusts the ratio from 1:1 through to hard-knee limiting, allowing settings to be tailored for everything from natural bass compression to slap, funk and synth-bass sounds. Gain provides up to +30dB of output boost.

Attack and release behaviour is automatically adaptive to the incoming signal and playing dynamics. This allows the compressor to react naturally without requiring dedicated attack and release controls, keeping operation straightforward while maintaining precise dynamic response.
