The Martin 000-28ECSB Eric Clapton Signature is a highly sought-after version of Martin's celebrated Clapton model, combining the comfortable proportions of a 000 body with classic Style 28 appointments and a gorgeous Sunburst finish.

This used example, #18973, is in excellent condition and sounds absolutely superb. It has been fully serviced by our in-house luthier, including a recent professional neck reset, ensuring excellent geometry, comfortable action and reliable playability for many years to come.

There is some visible finish checking consistent with the guitar's age, adding natural character while the instrument otherwise presents beautifully.

Inspired by the pre-war Martin associated with Eric Clapton's landmark MTV Unplugged performance, the 000-28EC specification pairs a spruce top with East Indian rosewood back and sides. The combination delivers the rich bass, harmonic complexity and projection of rosewood while maintaining the balance and articulation for which the 000 body is renowned.

The shorter 24.9" scale length provides a slightly softer string feel, while the Modified V neck and 1 3/4" nut width offer a substantial yet comfortable playing experience particularly well suited to fingerstyle, blues and expressive acoustic playing. Scalloped X-bracing contributes excellent responsiveness and dynamic range.

Traditional appointments include an ebony fingerboard and bridge, fine herringbone detailing, bone nut and compensated bone saddle, nickel open-gear tuners and distinctive Eric Clapton signature fingerboard inlay.

These Sunburst Clapton models are very hard to come by, and this is an especially reassuring example thanks to the recent neck reset and comprehensive in-house service. It plays beautifully, sounds incredible and is ready to be enjoyed rather than requiring the significant structural work that can accompany an older acoustic guitar.
