Vemuram Butter Machine Michael Landau Distortion
The Butter Machine was developed in close collaboration with legendary guitarist Michael Landau to create his ideal distortion pedal. After more than two years of R&D and countless prototypes—tested on tour, in studio sessions, and at Landau’s own home studio—the Butter Machine was born. The result is a user-friendly, wide-ranging distortion that goes effortlessly from smooth overdrive to full-on saturation, all while preserving nuance, touch dynamics, and musicality.
Unlike typical distortion pedals, the Butter Machine retains clarity and punch even at high gain, offering sustain for days while responding beautifully to guitar volume roll-offs. Two internal trim pots give players additional control over their tone, with “Sparkle” adding crunch and articulation in the highs, and “Low-Mid” fine-tuning the body and low-end response.
Michael Landau describes it as “the best distortion pedal I have ever played through… a perfectly open, natural feeling overdrive with gain and sustain for days.”
