Originally conceived by Josh Scott of JHS Pedals and graphic designer Daniel Danger as a homage to Electro-Harmonix’s 1970s design heyday, the EHX Lizard Queen Octave Fuzz brings a bold new voice to the EHX fuzz lineage. First revealed on The JHS Show in 2022, the circuit was later brought to life by Electro-Harmonix engineers as a compact nano-sized pedal that captures all the attitude and character of the original design.
At its core is a unique transistor-based analog octave-up fuzz circuit, delivering tones that range from thick, crushing fuzz to chimey, clanging octave leads. Despite being a fixed-gain fuzz, the Lizard Queen offers surprising flexibility thanks to its intuitive controls. The Octave knob blends in anything from subtle harmonic lift to full octave chaos, while the Balance control shifts the tonal character between the smoother Shadow side and the raspy, biting Sun side—especially dramatic with the octave pushed high.
Finished with striking vintage EHX-inspired artwork by Daniel Danger and housed in Electro-Harmonix’s rugged nano enclosure, the Lizard Queen is a modern fuzz with deep roots in classic Electro-Harmonix history, delivering a sound and aesthetic unlike anything else in the EHX range.
